Double-drum Blair hoist


A double-drum Blair hoist is a special type of double-drum hoist. It is characterized by each of the two drums having two separate winding sections, which distribute the load over two ropes per drum. This machine, named after engineer Robert Blair, was developed in the 20th century and is particularly used for deep shafts and heavy loads. In its basic design, it resembles a conventional double-drum hoist.
